Sunyata Meditation Adelaide

The Adelaide Sunyata Meditation Practice Community is part of the group of Sunyata practice communities located in Australia, which fall under the Śūnyatā Meditation Association based in Perris, USA and founded by Venerable Thich Thong Triet on 01.04.1995.

The Adelaide Practice Community operates under the leadership of Bhikhuni Thích Nữ Triệt Như on organisational and study matters.

Bikkhuni Zen Master Triệt Như is the successor of Venerable Thich Thong Triet following the official ceremony held in 2/2015.

Adelaide Buddhists welcomed Sunyata Meditation for the first time in March 2014. Approximately 200 people attended a public lecture and a Ffundamental Meditation course. It was like a new breeze that added a new shade of colour to Buddhist activities in Adelaide.

After the course, a number of students gathered to meet monthly to review and practice. This group formed the basis for further development at a later stage.
Exactly one year later, in March 2015, Adelaide organized a second Fundamental Meditation course and the first Paññā Intermediate Meditation Level 1 course.
With the help of determining facors such as: the support of the local Buddhist sangha and practitioners, the eagerness to learn of meditation students, good facilities, the spirit of harmony and the ability of Bhikkhuni Zen Master Triệt Như, the meditation courses conducted in Adelaide successfully met the spiritual needs of the Adelaide public and led to the formation of the “Adelaide Sunyata Practice Community” on 28.03.2015.
